Facilitating, enhancing, and positively guiding the human-animal relationship through design is our main goal.

Pet Design meets the emotional and social well-being of all users.

In recent years, the presence of dogs and cats within families has grown significantly, turning pets into true members of the family. This evolution has introduced new needs and lifestyles, influencing not only private residential spaces but also shared environments such as workplaces and hospitality venues.

Since 2022, The HAD Human Animal Design® has pioneered the concept of Pet Design CZ® — an innovative approach that places pets at the center as active users, with species-specific needs based on their ethological, interactive, and relational characteristics.

Our design philosophy shifts the perspective from an anthropocentric view to a relational one. We address the practical needs of both animals and humans, prioritizing the psycho-emotional and social well-being of all users, while promoting a positive vision of mutual relationships.

Our Pet Design CZ® consulting services start from the observation and understanding of animal and human behaviors, as well as their mental and relational processes.

A Unique Method

Our method combines the principles of ethology and cognitive zooanthropology with user-centered design, and forms the foundation of all our project consulting services.
Based on the observation and understanding of animal and human behaviors, as well as their mental and relational processes, it invites reflection on the concept of relationships and interactions between different species sharing the same environment. The goal is to design spaces, furniture, and products that promote the well-being of all.

The proposed method, AAES – Hetero-Specific Environments and Furnishings©™, encourages a reflection on the concept of heterospecificity, where the well-being of each individual is interpreted in a broader perspective, connected to self-expression, the quality of relationships, and interaction with the surrounding environment.

Our mission: improving animal lives and strengthening bonds with humans through Pet Design CZ.

Our Values

INCLUSIVITY
Designing spaces where every being — human or animal — finds belonging and well-being.

SUBJECTIVITY
Honoring the uniqueness of every living creature to foster true coexistence.

RELATIONSHIP
Strengthening the bond between humans and animals through thoughtful design.

PET CARE
Creating environments that offer comfort, security, and happiness for all.

DESIGN
Solutions shaped around the real needs of animals, people, and organizations.

SUSTAINABILITY
Protecting nature, respecting animal diversity, and designing for a better future.

BIOCENTRISM
Beyond anthropocentrism: creating balanced spaces for all life to thrive.

We design beyond human-centered thinking, embracing the subjectivity of every living being.

The HAD is rooted in real, hands-on experience.

We are rooted in real, hands-on experience, treating animal well-being in ALL its dimensions – behavioral, relational, and environmental. Our team is made of architects, designers and professionals in animal behavior.

“Since 2008 I’ve been collaborating with dog training center, veterinarians, shelters on territory, gaining deep insight into complex contexts and delivering real-world solutions. I’ve personally worked with more than 1,000 dogs and supported over 500 families in building balanced, rewarding relationships with their animals. Through behavioral assessments, educational programs, rehabilitation plans, and environmental actions, I helped pet owners live better with their dogs and cats. This experience shaped my awareness and professional credibility, that are now at the core of The HAD Human Animal Design. “

Testimonials

Antonella Dedini, Architetto Teacher Curator.
